Protocol used for sensitization/de-sensitization of animals. Mice were sensitized by three i.p. injections of ovalbumin (OVA) and Al(OH)3 on day 0, 7 and 14, followed by two OVA aerosol challenges. Afterwards, the mice were treated either by i.p injections of OVA (control group) or a combination of OVA and di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (immunotherapy group) on days 35, 42, 49, 56, 63, 70 and 77. Additionally, mice were challenged by an OVA aerosol on three consecutive days (91-93).
