Involvement of the MAPKs signaling pathway in the effect of ox-LDL on HUVSMCs. Cells were pretreated for 1 h with or without inhibitors of the MAPKs signaling pathway: SB-202190 (10 μM, p38 MAPK inhibitor), SP-600125 (10 μM, JNK inhibitor) and U-0126 (10 μM, MEK inhibitor), and then treated with or without ox-LDL (50 μg/ml). Data are mean ± SD of four independent experiments, and expressed as fold increase of absorbance compared with unstimulated cells. * P < 0.05 vs. control. # P < 0.05 vs. ox-LDL. ** P < 0.05 vs. control.
