The arrow points to a fission event, the arrowhead indicates a fusion event, and the concave arrow indicates a hotspot that undergoes first fusion and then fission. These single plane images were acquired every 5 seconds with a 0.8 μm optical depth by a 63X objective. Please note: this image was not used for quantification of fission and fusion event as the time points are too far apart.
