Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) analysis of exoproteins from S. pyogenes GT01 (A), GT01 ΔcovS (B), SF370 ΔcovS (C), and 1529 ΔcovS (D). S. pyogenes strains were cultured in 25 ml BHI-Y broth and the proteins in the culture supernatants were subjected to 2-DE analysis using 13 cm Immobiline Drystrip gels (pH 3–10; GE Healthcare Biosciences Co.). Some protein spots identified by LC-MS/MS analysis are shown. The SpeB spot sizes produced from GT01ΔcovS (B), SF370ΔcovS (C), and 1529ΔcovS (D) were smaller than those from GT01 (A).
