In vitro RNA exposure to DSS, but not DSS-associated molecules, completely inhibits qPCR. A) Total RNA from non-DSS samples was incubated in vitro with different concentrations of DSS, and the qPCR amplification of 36B4 was assessed. The amplification of 36B4 was blocked by 1 or 5 g/L of DSS. Abbreviations: ***, p < 0.001; nd, not detected. B) Total RNA from non-DSS samples was incubated in vitro with different concentrations of DSS or its components (dextran, glucose and sodium sulfate), and the qPCR amplification of 36B4 was assessed.
