Light purple bars represent the bud ends of WT tubers; dark purple bars, the stem ends of WT tubers; light green bars, the bud ends of RNAi tubers; and dark green bars, the stem ends of RNAi tubers. Bars show averages of samples from six (WT) or eighteen (RNAi) different tubers ± standard error. Tubers were harvested on October 1, 2010 and sampled in 2011.
