Results of maximum likelihood phylogenetic analysis of l-aspartate-α-decarboxylase homologues in the Proteobacteria are highlighted: teal Alphaproteobacteria; blue Betaproteobacteria; pink Epsilonproteobacteria; yellow Gammaproteobacteria. Archaeal l-aspartate-α-decarboxylase homologues are marked with an asterisk.
