In the absence of direct human transmission, contaminated water and foodstuffs could be sources of contamination. We investigated the dry-heat inactivation of “M. canettii” alone and mixed into mock-infected foodstuffs by inoculating agar cylinders and milk with 104 colony-forming units of “M. canettii” CIPT140010059 and two “M. canettii” clinical strains with Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv as a control.
