BALF from control mice contained 1.08 ± 0.38 × 105 cells/ml, whereas BALF from β-cell-depleted hyperglycemic mice contained 1.19 ± 0.51 × 105 cells/ml. There were no significant differences between control and β-cell-depleted hyperglycemic mice. HGF concentrations on days 3, 4, 5, and 7 were significantly lower in β-cell-depleted hyperglycemic mice than in control mice (P < 0.05)
