Nutritional Evaluation of Fecal Samples. Overall percent acid detergent fiber (ADF) in feces was greater for mature horses (a); for mature horses ADF concentration was lower at Days 0, 7, and 11, relative to Day 28 of the study. Percent silica concentration was comparatively greater overall for yearlings (b), even when normalized by ADF in a silica:ADF ratio (c).
