Single strain (WCF213 or LrFBB81) and combination strains pretreatment helped in maintaining mucosal integrity against H2O2 exposure. Caco-2 cells pretreated with either individual or combination strains significantly maintained TER as compared to that treated only with H2O2. WCF213 showed better effect on maintaining mucosal integrity (p < 0.001) than LrFBB81 or combination did.
