Severity of the various types of anesthesia-related discomfort. The question ‘At any stage after your operation have you had…’ could be answered with ‘Yes, severe’, ‘Yes, moderate’, or ‘No’. The types of anesthesia-related discomfort were: A drowsiness; B, hoarseness, C, sore throat; D, thirst; E, nausea or vomiting; F, feeling cold; G, shivering; H, confusion or disorientation; I, pain at the site of surgery; K, pain at the site of anesthetic injection.
