(Left panel) Northern hybridization analysis of poly (A)⁺mRNA from wild-type N. crassa grown under low sulfur (or derepressing) (lane 1) and high sulfur (or repressing conditions) (lane 2). Northern blots were probed with ³²P-labeled met-2⁺ DNA (designated β within figure) and am⁺ DNA (which served as a constitutively expressed control to allow for sample comparisons). These results are directly comparable to the prior cys-16⁺ study [19].
