Biofilm inhibition by N,N,N′,N′-tetrakis(2-pyridylmethyl)ethylenediamine (TPEN) is abrogated by zinc Biofilms were incubated in medium including 0.1 μM TPEN and 0.01–10 μM zinc, respectively. Controls (no TPEN, no ZnSO4) included the same amount of each solvent. Biofilm formation was measured using the XTT reduction assay.
