Phytohormone content. Salicylic acid (SA) and indole-acetic acid (IAA) content (ng g-1 fresh weight) measured as their corresponding methyl esters in WT and transgenic lines. The total pool of SA (dark-blue bars) present in plants as free and methylated forms were analyzed. Both SA and IAA levels (light-blue bars) were significantly different from WT in both transgenic lines as indicated by p-values (two-tailed Student's t-test). Statistical groups as determined by one-way ANOVA (multi-comparison Bonferroni test, p < 0.05) are given as letters. No jasmonic acid (total) was detected in the samples.
