- * Culture supernatants were obtained from wells in the cell adhesion assay that contained epithelial cells incubated with LGG alone (LGG), or together with pneumococci isolate (LGG + Pnc). Supernatants were filtered and added to wells in a separate adherence assay to measure their effect on the adherence of the corresponding pneumococcal isolate.
